A fund of £100 was raised by this municipality tonight to be sent to Algeria for the relief of victims of the Moslem pogrom in Constantine. The money was voted at a meeting of municipal officials who passed a resolution extending the city’s sympathies to the Algerian Jews. In memory of those who died in the Constantine massacre, those present stood and observed silence for one minute.
The resolution appealed to the French authorities not to permit any further bloodshed.
