The executive board of the Texas State AFL-CIO at a meeting here adopted a resolution urging its affiliated trade unions to buy Israel bonds. The resolution cited Israel’s role as champion of the democratic rights of man, and its national policy which has “fostered and encouraged the founding and growth of a strong, democratic trade union movement. ” It recommended the purchase of Israel bonds “because such investment is financially sound,” and “such investment expresses fraternal approval of the aims of members of the international free trade union movement.”
