The Cabinet approved an electronic eavesdropping bill Sunday. It would permit the security service (Shin Bet) to conduct electronic surveillance on the basis of a court order. In an emergency, if no Judge is available, the surveillance may be maintained without a court order for a maximum of 48 hours provided that the Inspector General of Police is informed.
