The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations decided to send a letter of thanks to the 81 U.S senators who signed on to a letter urging President Clinton not to pressure Israel in the peace process. At the same time, the Conference of Presidents also decided to send a letter thanking Clinton for not going public with a proposal that calls for further Israeli withdrawals from the West Bank.
