The council of Amsterdam University voted down a proposal for “humanitarian support for the entire population of Israel” during its recent meeting here. The council consists of representatives from both the administration and the student body. Observers noted that the council recently passed a proposal for providing substantial financial aid to the University of Hanoi. In its recent meeting the delegates from the left-wing controlled Students Association all voted against the proposal while 11 others abstained because they felt the matter had little connection with the activities of the university.
