The Czech Republic’s chief rabbi, was given an honorary medal on the 152nd anniversary of the birth of Thomas Masaryk, the first president of the former Czechoslovakia. The medal, presented to Rabbi Karol Sidon by admirers of the late president, recognizes Sidon’s role in maintaining the “spirit” of Masaryk.
