The Frankfurt Police Commissioner, Johan Eckstein, who served in the Nazi police force under Hitler, stated Friday during a mass murder trial that he did “not remember a thing” concerning Nazi crimes and the murder of Jews in Pinsk during World War II. Eckstein has been charged with participating in the liquidation of the Pinsk ghetto in the fall of 1942. Thousands of Jews were murdered during that action.
