The incoming German government says it will set up a working group of industry representatives and government officials to find a speedy solution to compensation for former World War II slave laborers. The announcement came after a meeting between chancellor-elect Gerhard Schroeder and leading industry executives. The meeting came one day after Schroeder said his new government plans to establish foundations for former slave workers and for “forgotten Holocaust victims,” such as homosexuals.
