The Israel Broadcasting Authority demoted two of its journalists and reprimanded two others for apparently doctoring a report involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Authority officials said the report was altered to make it seem as if Netanyahu had encouraged chants of “Death to Arabs” when he appeared at a recent rally of supporters of the Betar Jerusalem soccer team. The chairman of an Israeli journalists association said he opposed the disciplinary actions.
