The Israel Defense Force is considering transferring security responsibilities for Jewish settlements from the army to the settlers themselves, the IDF chief of staff said this week. After Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz made the comment, an IDF spokesman said any such move would be coordinated with settler leaders.
