The Jewish National Fund is preparing the infrastructure for 185 new settlements, 22 of them to be established in the coming fiscal year, Meir Shamir, director of the JNF’s land development department reported Monday. He said the JNF will prepare 23,000 dunams of land for agricultural development throughout the country, but mainly in Galilee. It has prepared some 248,000 dunams for agriculture in the past five years and planted more than 12 million trees, Shamir reported.
