The Paris Archbishop, Cardinal Jean Marie Lustiger, was Thursday refused an entry visa to Czechoslovakia. Lustiger, who is of Jewish origin, intended to attend the celebration due to mark the 1100th anniversary of a noted Czech, Saint Method, described by many Catholics as the patron saint of Europe. Lustiger has asked in the past that East European countries lift travel barriers for Jews. Now, though a Catholic Cardinal and a Prince of the Church, he has personally suffered from these barriers to the free circulation of people.
