The town of Orillia, Ontario, home of the Canadian humorist the late Stephen Leacock and model for his “Tales of Mariposa,” now has a Jewish Mayor. He is 56-year-old Frank Dolcort, a local retail clothier who won 5400 votes against 1600 votes for his nearest opponent. Orillia, 83 miles north of Toronto, has 22,000 inhabitants of which only eight families are Jewish.
