The U.N. Security Council endorsed a three-year timetable for the establishment of a Palestinian state. On July 18, the Security Council officially endorsed a communique issued earlier last week by the Quartet — the United States, United Nations, Russia and the European Union — that called for a revitalized effort to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and for reforming the Palestinian government.
