The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously called for Israel to be granted full membership in the U.N.’s Western European and Others Group. The resolution, passed Thursday, calls on the State Department to lobby for the move. After Arab nations refused to allow Israel into the Asian group, it was belatedly admitted to the European group for U.N. activities in New York, but not for U.N. offices abroad.
