The United States is placing Hezbollah’s television channel on its terrorism exclusion list. An announcement placing al-Manar on the State Department list will be made by the end of the week, JTA has learned. France recently banned the TV station, which is run by Lebanon’s Hezbollah — designated a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department — for broadcasting incitement. Placing al-Manar on the U.S. terrorist exclusion list could curtail its U.S. activities, including its broadcasts over a U.S. satellite network.
