The United Zionist-Revisionists of America has accused many Jewish organizations of diverting attention from the plight of Soviet Jewry by their “hysterical responses to the activities of the Jewish Defense League.” A statement issued by the militant Zionist group claimed that “the need of the moment is for a determined effort by all Jewish organizations to concentrate their efforts on securing freedom for all Jews, throughout the world.” According to the Zionist-Revisionists, the JDL’s activities “are the proper concern of the United States Government” which should protect foreign diplomats in this country “just as it is the task of the Soviet Government to protect American diplomats” in the Soviet Union.
