Thirty-nine members of the House have joined in a group to help support efforts for Soviet Jewry. The 97th Congressional Class on Soviet Jewry was organized by Reps. William Coyne (D. Pa.) and Christopher Smith (R. NJ) to “dramatize the plight of Prisoners of Conscience and particularly long-term refuseniks who are seeking to emigrate from the Soviet Union.”
