Truman Says He Knows of No Arab Threat to U.S. Interests Because of Palestine Issue

President Truman has not seen a letter which King Ibn Saud has sent him reportedly threatening withdrawal of American oil concessions if the President does not accedes to Arab wishes regarding Palestine, he told his press conference today.

(The New York Times reports from Paris today that France has agreed to a British request that the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, who is now residing at a villa outside of Paris, not be allowed to leave the country. British Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin, according to the Times story, made the request to French Foreign Minister Georges Bidault. It had been reported in recent weeks that several Middle East countries were proposed to offer haven to the Mufti.)
