Twenty-nine countries, most of them Arab states, are pressing the U.N. Commission on Human Rights in Geneva to adopt a resolution charging Israel with crimes against humanity for its role in Israeli-Palestinian violence. France urged the panel to “do nothing to undermine efforts already being taken to restore peace.” The commission plans to hold a third session Thursday while the European Union tries to tone down the Arab-sponsored resolution.
