The U.S. Displaced Persons Commission today announced a new procedure to send 80,000 more DP’s to the United States before the displaced Persons Act expires on June 30.
John W. Gibson, chairman of the Commission, told newspapermen that blank “assurances” for immigrants can now be issued by a future American employer or the Commission itself. Up to now affidavits had to be given by American friends of the immigrant applicant.
