William Cole, the American consulate general in Jerusalem, climbed up the Mount of Olives today to see with his own eyes the destruction of the Jewish cemetery on that Jordan-held height.
Mr. Cole had his vice-consul first visit the site. When the latter reported that the cemetery had been desecrated and all tombstones removed Mr. Cole decided to see for himself.
