U.S. Jewish leaders got words of support from British officials. During a visit to London, members of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations “heard strong statements of support for Israel” from Britain’s foreign secretary and opposition leader, the group’s executive vice chairman, Malcolm Hoenlein, told JTA.
