U.S. Rabbis Send Funds to Jews in France “to Save Jewish Children from Conversion”

The Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada today made public the text of a cable received from leaders of orthodox Jewry in France, disclosing that “it is impossible to resoue Jewish children from the Catholic convents and from private non – Jewish homes” where they were given shelter during the German occupation of the country. The Union decided to send 100,000 frances as an initial contribution “to save Jewish children from conversion.
