The memory of Abraham Goldfaden, Yiddish playwright and founder of the Yiddish theatre in Eastern Europe, will be honored by the erection of a monument, according to a decision of the Jewish Cultural League of Bukowina.

The League have started to raise a fund for the erection of the memorial to Goldfaden who, forty years ago, produced the first Yiddish play in Roumania. The Union of Roumanian Artists are supporting the fund.
