Israel’s role as a melting pot of both Eastern and Western cultures was cited in a discussion of the promotion of Eastern and Western values at the assembly of delegates of the World Confederation of Organizations of Teaching Profession. Shalom Levin, general secretary of the Israel Teachers’ Union, participated as delegate representing Israel. He told of Israel’s contributions to the promotion of culture through public education.
