Itzhak Kariv, 49-year-old banker, has been elected mayor of Jerusalem, succeeding S. Shragai who had to resign because of continued ill health. Like his predecessor, Mr. Kariv is a member of the Mizrachi Party. He is the manager of the Mizrachi Bank.
