Yemima Tschernovitz-Avidar, a writer of children’s stories, is the winner of this year’s prize for literature, the Education Ministry announced. It will be presented on Israel Independence Day next spring. The writer, born in Vilna, Russia, came to Palestine at the age of 12 and taught kindergarten in Tel Aviv for many years.
