December 19, 1930
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

A number of students in the local rabbinical seminary were arrested today on the suspicion of being Communists when they gathered to give a reception to Dr. Schmarya Levin, noted Zionist leader and author, on his arrival here. The police followed them on their way to the railway station and then arrested them.

The students’ story was ignored by the police and they remained under arrest until their release was effected through the intervention of Rabbi Zirelson. A number of the students were beaten by the police.
