The Jewish Daily Forward, in a statement published on its front page, has expressed regret for an attack on Dr. Samuel Margoshes, then editor of The Day, which the Forward published last November. The statement attributed the personal attack to the heat of the election campaign and declared the writer had written it without authority. Dr. Margoshes had threatened a $250,000 libel suit against the Forward.
