A Latvia-Palestine transfer agreement that will facilitate transfer of Zionist funds to the Holy Land was concluded here today. According to terms of the agreement, the Anglo-Palestine Bank guarantees to clear Latvian imports to the value of $500,000 and Palestine exports to Latvia valued at $50,000. Dr. Alfred Werner signed on behalf of the bank.
The transfer deal will also act to help prospective Latvian emigrants in Palestine withdraw currency from the country. Present regulations forbid money to be withdrawn from Latvia, causing considerable funds collected for the Palestine upbuilding to be tied up in this country.
