Zahra Billoo’s sabbatical appears to be unrelated to her recent diatribe against “polite Zionists” as her group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, has defended her remarks.
Zahra Billoo, who leads the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ San Francisco chapter, previously was voted out of the Women’s March board for comments deemed antisemitic.
The organization views the case as important to both the Muslim and Jewish communities, as they observe dietary restrictions as part of their religious beliefs.
