Pasquale Vargas, 65 is accused of multiple incidents of hate-crime graffiti at Penn Station since Feb. 28, according to New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The Minnesota lawmaker, the first Muslim elected to Congress, noted in his letter "the dark history of anti-Semitic attacks of this nature, both here and abroad."
