Shalom TV Now On Cablevision

Shalom TV, which fancies itself as a Jewish PBS, will be available for no extra charge to Cablevision customers in the Greater New York Tri-State Area beginning Dec. 4.

The 24/7 channel will be found on Channel 138.

Shalom TV, which premiered in 2006, is a public service of Jewish Education in Media, a non-profit organization founded in 1979. It features daily news programs from Israel and here, kids’ programming, exclusive telecasts from the 92nd Street Y, films and live coverage of Friday night Shabbat and holiday services. It began a 24/7 format in March.

In addition to Cablevsion, Shalom TV is available on RCN Cable, Blue Ridge Communications and Hot Wire Communications.
