Apropos of your article “Opposition Builds Against Chicken-Swinging Ritual” (Sept. 13), I would like to say how much I admire Rina Deych for her work in trying to eliminate kapporot in the Orthodox world. How a mother can say the chicken is “happy to help us” just proves how blind people are to the suffering of others even the “sacred to God” lowly fowl.
