Two Sentences

Anti-Defamation League National Director Abraham Foxman posits “Two Sentences That Could Change The
World” (Opinion, March 21) if they were to be uttered by Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani respectively.

Let me propose two other sentences that, if pronounced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu, could change — if not the world — then at least the course of
Jewish history: First, “Israel accepts the 1967 border, with mutually agreed
territorial exchanges, as the basis for the border between the States of
Israel and Palestine.”

Second, “Israel will immediately cease building new
housing for settlers across the Green Line until an Israeli-Palestinian peace
agreement is concluded.”
To echo Mr. Foxman, that “would do more to build trust than volumes of words
and speeches.”
