The Jewish world is certainly in need of visionary leadership that will prepare it for all of the challenges to our community, from external threats to internal divisions.
The future may indeed be based on the reality that most Jews (at least in America) will be intermarried, but awarding a million-dollar Genesis Prize to Michael Douglas (who surely does not need another $1 million) apparently because he is intermarried, is a slap in the face to all of the people who are doing genuinely important work to assure that there will, indeed, be a Jewish future.
