Regarding “Big Data On ‘Who Is A Jew’ Angers Rabbis Here” (April 7): To Michele Chabin’s excellent and detailed discussion of the issues surrounding the creation of a database of all officially recognized Jews, I would like to add the following: One thing we can be certain of is that this database will be hacked, most likely by people not friendly to Jewish people.
Are we prepared for harassment on a “big data” scale?
Imagine for a moment, that such a database was available to the Nazis. It won’t take long to realize the folly of this idea.
