I never heard the term “biblically kosher,” as cited in “92Y Gala Sparks Debate On What’s Kosher” (May 19), but to my interpretation, this would mean that the chicken would have to be properly slaughtered. But it would be ok to serve chicken parmesan. In any case, the 92 Street Y, or any Jewish organization, should use a kosher caterer if for no other reason than to support Jewish businesses.
