The Rabbinical Council of Bergen County (RCBC) decision regarding the Netivot Shalom shul embarrassed Rabbi Nathaniel Helfgot, divided the community and serves as another sterling example of the abuse of rabbinic authority (“Fresh Rift In Modern Centrist Orthodox Camp,” Feb. 15).
As one young woman quoted in the article observed, “Nothing talks like money.” She’s right. We are increasing our donation to Yeshivat Maharat and, despite living on the Upper West Side, have just become members of Netivot Shalom.
