I was very disturbed concerning the Satmar custody case (“Satmar Custody Case Hinges On Value Of Religious Community, June 7). It is unbelievable
that Judge Sherri Eisenpress
awarded custody of the three children to the father, even though it was
suggested that he physically abused and may have sexually abused his own children.

when I read further that the Orthodox community raised nearly $125,000
towards Judge Eisenpress’ judicial campaign, I realized this
was definitely a conflict of interest. She should have requested to be
removed from this case. If
she didn’t, then she deserves to be permanently removed as a judge.
