Prince Charles will attend the installation of the United Kingdom’s new chief rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, the first time a royal has been present at such an occasion, according to the Jewish Chronicle.

Rabbi Mirvis, who will turn 57 next week, will become the eighth Chief Rabbi on Sept. 1 at St. John’s Wood Synagogue, the Chronicle reports.

About 1,400 guests will be there, including politicians, Church of England and Jewish leaders.

Two months ago, according to the Chronicle, Prince Charles led a tribute dinner for former Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, who is retiring after 22 years in office.
