One would think that after Israelis won three Nobel prizes, The Jewish Week would be full of effusive praise that would make our vulnerable youth proud of the Jewish State.
Yet even though a small country like Israel cannot possibly support advanced laboratories in every scientific field, requiring some scientists to go abroad, Gary Rosenblatt turned the awards into a negative, warning that Israel is under another “existential threat” — from a brain drain, etc. (“Israel’s Other Existential Threat,” Oct. 18).
Added to Rosenblatt’s drumbeat of criticism of Israel’s prime minister and of its own non-American brand of pluralism, The Jewish Week is in danger of becoming part of the problem for Israel and Jewish continuity.
