Here is an important explanation for the alleged distancing of American Jews from Israel (“`I Love Israel, But Does Israel Love Me?” May 29).
American Jews are not being informed of the daily torrent of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic invective by Palestinian Authority President Abbas and the PA, which rewards Palestinian terrorists who murder Israelis and guarantees future generations of terrorists. I can understand why this crucial context, which makes the average Israeli so distrustful of Abbas, would [appear to] be censored from The New York Times and other problematic mainstream media, even though it is readily available from Palestinian Media Watch. But it is inexplicable and unacceptable that these facts are missing from our own Jewish Week, because armed with this crucial information, American Jews would be much more likely to bond with, rather than allegedly separate from, Israel.
