Regarding “Smallest Movement Takes Big Step Toward Inclusion,” Oct. 2: So the Reconstructionists will no longer care whether the spouse of a future rabbi of theirs is Jewish or not. Good for them.
But are they really as enlightened here as they themselves suggest? I understand that the future rabbi himself, or more likely herself, must be Jewish. How bigoted can you get? Are Jewish prospective rabbis better human beings than Christians, Muslims, or Hindus?
