Biden’s J Street Comments

Joe Biden’s recent criticism of the Israeli government reflects a now-familiar pattern with the Obama administration (“Ominous Signs,” Editorial, April 22).

Although professing to be a
friend of Israel, President Obama and his administration will never miss an
opportunity to unjustly blame Israel for any impasse in negotiations with the
Palestinians. Arguably, the Americans behave no differently than the
Palestinians. Although Abbas tells gullible English speakers that
Palestinians only desire a fair peace agreement with Israel, he preaches
incitement and hatred of Israel to his fellow Arabs. Clearly, Biden felt
comfortable inciting the J Street crowd against Israel. It is doubtful,
however, that the vice president would have employed the same rhetoric before
an AIPAC audience. Sadly, that speaks volumes about Joe Biden, the Obama
administration and J Street.
