Seymour Reich’s “Rebuttal” (Letters, May 20) contends that one can be a “lover of Israel, and still publicly criticize its policies,” and that more and more, young Americans’ “sympathy for the Palestinians” is on the rise.
When these criticisms are based on the big lies often heard that Israel is oppressing, is an apartheid state or occupies Arab land, then criticism should be directed at the liars and not at the victims of these lies and propaganda — Israel.
People used to say “loose lips sink ships.” When we are dealing with groups like Breaking the Silence, J Street, and others, then it is accurate to say that “big lies endanger Jewish lives.”
