As the chairman of the board at Shulamith School for Girls of Brooklyn, I am writing to express my disappointment with your inaccurate and erroneous reporting (“Day School Teachers’ Battle For Back Wages Coming To A Head,” Sept. 2).
Your assertion that our school is a defendant to a teachers’ lawsuit is not true. A simple review of the court filing will confirm that the defendants named are Bnot Shulamith of Long Island, Moshe Zwick and Samuel Gross. These individuals, along with Rabbi Perry Tirschwell (quoted in your article) are not and have not been employed by or affiliated with our school.
We hereby request that you issue a correction to your misleading reporting, as I’m sure you will agree that facts do matter.
Shulamith School for Girls of Brooklyn is committed to providing an excellent Jewish education in a warm and respectful environment. Our teachers are at the heart of our school, and we pay them, along with other staff, on schedule. That is indisputable. We enjoy a good reputation in our community, and continue to grow and thrive.
