Naïve Essay

I found nothing egregious in Robert Sugarman’s Opinion essay, “Obama Can Still Advance Mideast Peace” (Oct. 21) — that is, until he naively stated, “Jews living in a Palestinian state will have a choice — to continue to live in that state, just as (my emphasis) Israeli Arabs live in Israel, or move back to Israel or to one of the settlement blocs that will become part of Israel.” This is tragically comic coming from the past chair of the ADL and the Presidents Conference.

The idea that Jews could live in a Palestinian State as Israeli Arabs do in Israel, i.e., a likely comparison of civil rights to genocide, exhibits once again that even the most brilliant minds who put their efforts into this quandary waste their time and come across as silly for not placing a new Palestinian narrative and educational system as a prerequisite to all else.
