In the article, “ADL Chief Takes Stand Against Bannon” (Nov. 25), I was misquoted as stating ADL’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt’s criticism of Bannon “was beyond the pale.”
I stated that his false accusation that Bannon was anti-Semitic was outrageous and motivated by partisan political considerations. In response to public protest, Greenblatt subsequently withdrew the accusation.
Since the departure of Abe Foxman, the ADL has engaged in a host of activities that make it nearly indistinguishable from J Street. That should not be the role of a mainstream organization whose principal mandate is to combat anti-Semitism.
